As the sun rises on another crisp morning, it slowly reveals the Victorian Countryside, a sight familiar to Charles Hinckfuss, founder of MCM House, who grew up in Geelong. His beginnings in the industry buying and selling unique antique furniture echoes his passion for mixing the old with the new. A skillset that has lead to the distinct approach to design that MCM House embodies, featuring a combination of character-filled reclaimed timber, soft linens and refined stone - an authentic approach to design that is uniquely Australian in it’s relaxed appeal.
MCM House takes influence from the Australian lifestyle, celebrated with the iconic ranges Joe, Elio and Jean; flexible sofa and modular designs inhered with a sense of longevity. The modern organic aesthetic of each range promotes an experience of rest, recovery and a connection to nature.
A fresh approach to outdoor living, the MCM House outdoor range enhances the nature surrounding it, both through form and function. Elio has been reinterpreted for alfresco appeal with a fabrication appropriate for the elements. We also spotlight the completely unique Outdoor Banga Table, nestled amongst the muted green of it’s surrounds.
Reclaimed timber dining tables St Tropez, Bruges and Global create an anchor that brings people together. Inspired by a passion for connection, MCM House dining tables and chairs create a grounding centre in the home to gather – a sanctuary to enjoy a long meal and catch up on lost time.
Pulling away from the weekend that was, we are left with a sensibility that is shared with the architecture of the home we resided – an advocation for timeless design championing natural materials and crafted for the Australian way of living.
